5.1.4

Expanded Classic Surround

A 5.1.4 (Atmos-Enabled) system includes five main speakers—front left, center, and right, plus left and right surrounds—paired with a subwoofer and four upward-firing Atmos-enabled modules. These modules are built into or placed atop the main speakers to bounce sound off the ceiling and create the perception of overhead effects.

This layout brings a three-dimensional sound experience into rooms where ceiling speakers aren’t an option. It’s well-suited for spaces where physical mounting is impractical but immersive Atmos sound is still desired.

Speaker Definitions

Front | Placed to the left and right of your screen or TV. They handle most of the music, sound effects, and action.

Center | Placed in line with your screen or TV, typically directly below. It is dedicated to voices and dialogue.

Surround | Placed to the sides or behind you. They create the immersive feeling of sound moving around the room.

Rear Surround | Placed directly behind you.  Typically used in larger or more advanced setups for deeper surround effects.

Overhead (Height) | Placed in or near the ceiling. They add a sense o fheight to the sound--like a plane overhead.

Subwoofer | Large, floor or in-wall mounted speaker that produces deep bass, like explosions or rumbling. They are felt as much as heard.

Atmos | Specially designed to project sound both forward and upward. Bouncing sound off the ceiling to allow sound to move in all directions around you.
